So I’m sitting here half-watching “Cashmere Mafia” - which my mom, despite initial ambivalence , now at least feigns interest in - when I realize that one of the stars is Miranda Otto, a.k.a Éowyn of “The Two Towers” and “Return of the King” fame.

I vaguely remember reading about that when the show was first announced, but was still pretty surprised (she was also in “The Starter Wife” on USA last summer). It helps me be a tiny bit more interested in this rather bad show, even though Otto probably won’t do anything as cool as kill the Witch-king of Angmar. A genuine shame.

Sunday night saw the ersatz “Desperate Houswives” fourth season finale and the series premiere of “Cashmere Mafia.” Follow distraught Lynette to the spoilers after the jump! (more…)
