Judy Greer on an Apple commercial?

Monday, April 7th, 2008 by Albert Ching

I don’t know why there’s a question mark in the subject title, I guess I just felt like being coy.

Just a few days after I (sadly) predicted the demise of the underrated and underwatched “Miss Guided,” I spot series star Judy Greer (sporting the dyed red-for-a-movie-role hairdo she debuted on Letterman a few weeks ago) as a yoga instructor on the latest Mac vs. PC commercial. Man, she sure doesn’t like Windows Vista!

Super Racist, part two

Thursday, February 7th, 2008 by Albert Ching

That Sales Genie Super Bowl ad I blogged about earlier in the week has been pulled because - surprise! - people found it to be offensive.

Now, honestly, it wasn’t really all that offensive (pandas are pretty cute, after all), but it was more just one of those “How could you not have known better?” things. If it were any other ethnic minority, it would have been considered explosively offensive. The fact that Asian stereotypes are often still (relatively) “OK” with was the only thing that allowed it to get on the air in the first place. That said, the guy that runs Sales Genie seems pretty sincere and lovable, all things considered, in that New York Times piece.

They just don’t make commercials like this any more:
