‘Heroes’ - Go figure

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008 by Albert Ching

heroes.jpgMissing “Heroes,” one of the earliest victims of the WGA strike? Well, good news! It’s the inevitable “Heroes” action figures - from Mezco, who have a ton of pop culture licenses like “South Park” and “Family Guy” (and make some truly ugly “Scarface” toys). Click n the left for a full-sized, detailed image. No firm release date, but action figure street dates are always pretty flimsy and unreliable. I would guess if they’re advertising them now, they’ll start showing up in late spring.

Those are some pretty suspect likenesses; in this even higher-detail image , Claire looks like she’ll disappoint rampant Hayden Panettiere fanboys and Sylar looks like he hasn’t sleep in weeks. The other ones look OK, though, but a Suresh figure has to be the most unnecessary toy since the Arvin Sloane “Alias” figure (with water pitcher accessory!). Not that these accessories aren’t bizarre. Brain! Wounded head! So many messenger bags! At least it’s giving the United American Guild of Tiny Plastic Messenger Bag Makers some work. Real heroes, that lot.
