Details on new Bob and David project!

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 by Albert Ching

It was announced back in September on their Web site, and now we have details. Bob Odenkirk and David Cross, the comedic commandos behind HBO’s seminal sketch show “Mr. Show,” are working on a new show for HBO, called “David’s Situation.” The short concept is that it’s David Cross and his two wacky roommates, but obviously there will be a lot more too it than that.

It’s a sitcom with a sketch comedy “feel,” words that remind me of Comedy Central’s short-lived but totally awesome “Stella,” though I imagine David Cross might be bummed out if he read that. Of course, both of them have been involved in hilarious things in recent years (”Arrested Development”! “Tom Goes to the Mayor!”), but there’s nothing like the two of them working together on their own material. Exciting stuff, especially since HBO is apparently undergoing some creative problems.
