It’s not a great week to be Tyra Banks, our favorite former-supermodel turned reality show and talk show host (a rare dual feat that only the elite in our society can achieve; Caroline Rhea couldn’t even handle those jobs separately).

Mark L. Wahlberg from Fox’s “Moment of Truth,” the show that tears families apart for fun and profit, appeared on her show yesterday as a “MoT”-type lie detector test was administered, because apparently we as a society are profoundly curious about what’s truly on the mind of Tyra Banks (I had no idea!). She was caught in a couple lies: That she is indeed jealous of Oprah Winfrey (she said she wasn’t), and this one, seen here:

The best part of that video isn’t the fact that she apparently thought that some “America’s Next Top Model” winners didn’t deserve that title (I’ve seen “My Fair Brady,” it’s hard to imagine Adrienne Curry as top anything), but the inspirational words that  Wahlberg gives Tyra after she gets it wrong. You’ve come a long way since “Shop ‘Til You Drop,” baby. Also, Tyra saying the device was “all up in my breasts” was pretty funny, too.

Perhaps even more depressing comes loaded story from Gawker (via Fabian Basabe’s blog ), which alleges that Ms. Banks recently evacuated her bowels during Fashion Week. Gawker says they’re “not really sure if Tyra Banks pooping herself is newsworthy” - apparently even the muckraking blogs bottom out at some point.

All of this Tyra Banks talk reminds me of one of my favorite things  about her - the fact that she used to be deathly afraid of dolphins. Yes, dolphins. The cute things that confused young women get tattooed on their bodies. Here’s a link !
